A top price of 3500gns was realised at the NI Charolais Club’s show and sale in Dungannon when George Henderson, Bushmills sold his cow and calf team to Vivian McGee, Dungannon. Sandelford Tasmin, by the Oldstone Egbert son, Drummeer Major

was sold with a March 08 Goldies Usher daughter at foot. Usher was purchased by George and Gary Henderson at Carlisle three years ago for 14,000gns.

Leading the prices in the heifer ring was John Erskine’s reserve champion, Dartonhall Bluebell. Bluebell is by Ashleigh Victor the 2007 Highland Show champion and 2008 Balmoral Show reserve Interbreed champion. She was knocked down to Brian Byrne, Banbridge for 3200gns.

The supreme champion, was Killadeas Cathy from Stuart and David Bothwell’s herd at Ballinamallard. She is by their stock sire, Dunlon Ulick which has brought them much success this year. She was a red rosette winner at Balmoral Show and was reserve senior female champion at the Dectomax finals at Clogher Valley Show. Unfortunately she failed to make her reserve in the sale ring.

However the Bothwell herd sold two other quality heifers to make 2500 and 2100 gns. Killadeas Bramble, a Doonally New daughter, in - calf to Dunlon Ulick, and standing second in her class to the reserve champion sold to Seamus Houston, Strabane for 2500gns.

Killadeas Betty , by the Bowerhouses Topper son, Clonkeefy MacAuley and out of a Brampton Embark daughter was knocked down to Ian Newell, Portadown for 2100gns.
