The Club

The Northern Ireland Charolais Club was founded in the early 60’s to promote the breed and provide a service to breeders in the province. Club members have the opportunity to enter animals for club shows and sales which are run under the auspices of the British Charolais Society and under National Beef Association rules.

Competitions with valuable prize money are also orgnanised.

To highlight the impact of the Charolais breed in the commercial herd the club organises suckled calf competitions at various marts and sponsors classes at a number of commercial Christmas shows throughout the province.

If you have pedigree Charolais cattle registered with the British Charolais Society, you can have the opportunity to promote these to best advantage through the NI Charolais Club.

You will also be kept informed of other activities such as young members stock judging competitions, meetings, open days, farm visits and social events.

If you are a commercial beef producer do not hesitate to contact us via our Contact Page regarding suckled calf competitions or a catalogue for one of our sales etc.

The Breed

Northern Ireland Charolais Offer High Animal health status, complete traceability, a genetic performance recording system and outstanding growth and conformation. Northern Ireland is in a unique position to offer livestock for local commercial farms or for export to other countries due to its high animal health status and its location on the periphery of Europe.

When you add the excellent traceability system which tracks an animal throughout its lifetime, the recording system which describes the genetic potential of the animals for all the important traits, and the husbandry skills of the breeders, then you can have confidence in our livestock.
